Training Organization Details

Below is an explanation for the different factors used to describe and compare the training organizations and their certification details.

Website A link to the website for the training organization. If a link is available to the direct description about the Lean Six Sigma program, then that link is provided.
Primary Location The physical address of the training organization's main headquarters. This may not necessarily represent the location where any classroom training sessions are located.
Membership Cost The cost to become a member of the training organization (if applicable). Some training organizations require membership in order to get discounts on their training classes and exams.
Training Format The types of training formats offered by the training location. This may include onsite classroom sessions, online live sessions, online pre-recorded sessions, mentoring by experts or peers, or written materials in the form of hardcopy books, ebooks, slides, etc.
Cert Type The types of certifications offered by the training organization. The most common types of certifications that are tracked here are a Yellow Belt (YB), Green Belt (GB), Black Belt (BB) and Master Black Belt (MBB). If there are other types of certifications offered, then they are likely not very common in the industry and not specifically tracked here.
Cert Duration The length of time that the training organization will allow their certifications to remain active. This is a unique requirement defined by the training organization and does not represent a standard used by all training organizations. This duration typically means the training organization will expire any certifications that haven't been renewed during the duration.
Cert Req'ts For a Yellow Belt (YB), Green Belt (GB), Black Belt (BB) and Master Black Belt (MBB), this represents the requirements the training organization has defined for earning the respective certification. The typical requirements usually include attending their training, passing an exam, completing 1 or more projects, validating the person's work or skill by an expert, passing a panel review from experts, verifying relevant job experience, or acquiring certification at the next lower level (i.e., a GB may need to first earn a YB, or a BB may need to first earn a GB, or a MBB may need to first earn a BB).
Class Cost For a Yellow Belt (YB), Green Belt (GB), Black Belt (BB) and Master Black Belt (MBB), it is the cost for attending an onsite, in-person classroom training session sponsored by the training organization. Due to the live nature of this training, it is usually only offered a defined number of times per year and requires students to attend the training on a fixed schedule.
Online (Live) Cost For a Yellow Belt (YB), Green Belt (GB), Black Belt (BB) and Master Black Belt (MBB), it is the cost for attending a live, virtual classroom training session sponsored by the training organization. Due to the live nature of this training, it is usually only offered a defined number of times per year and requires students to attend the training on a fixed schedule.
Online (Rec) Cost For a Yellow Belt (YB), Green Belt (GB), Black Belt (BB) and Master Black Belt (MBB), it is the cost for participating and watching a pre-recorded training session sponsored by the training organization. The training may be streamed online or available in CD or DVD format. Due to the pre-recorded nature of the this training, it can be more flexible than live classroom or online training sessions because they allow the student to watch the recorded class sessions on their own schedule and at their own pace. Some training organizations may require the student to watch the training sessions within a certain timeframe.
Exam Cost For a Yellow Belt (YB), Green Belt (GB), Black Belt (BB) and Master Black Belt (MBB), it is the additional cost to take an exam that is part of the certification requirements from the training organization. Many training organizations that require students to attend training as part of their certification requirements will often not have a separate cost for the exam. This exam cost is most often set by training organizations that don't require training attendance as part of their certification requirements. This exam cost does not necessarily reflect any other cost for re-taking an exam.
Additional Training Info Identifies any additional information that may be unique or relevant about the training organization and the certifications they offer.
"Not Available" Many factors for training organizations may be labeled as "Not Available".  This doesn't necessarily imply that particular factor isn't available from that training organization, but it could also be due to their website description not explicitly stating information about that factor. For example, a certification may require attending the provider's training, but if the provider didn't specify the cost or details about that training, then "Not Available" refers to the provider not stating those details. Regardless, you should always contact that training organization for the most current and accurate information.
