Term Definition
1 Sample Sign Test

A test used to measure the statistical difference of the median of a continuous (a.k.a. variable or numerical) value to a standard like a goal or target.  It is generally used when the distribution for the continuous value is non-normal, hence the need to rely on using the median instead of a mean.  This test is used for any distribution regardless of symmetry, unlike it's counterpart 1 Sample Wilcoxon Test that is used for symmetrical distributions.
